爱尔兰的中学英语是以研读多题材的经典作品为主要的学习方式。为了解这些作品的范围,本文翻译了爱尔兰国家教学大纲和评估委员会(NCCA)的《2018-2023年度初中英语作品清单》。
(针对2018-21、2019-22、2020-23的初中学生)
初中阶段的英语教学,在很大程度上培养的是学生不受限制的技能,需要经常重新审视和加强。因此,一方面要选择足够广泛的作品,另一方面也要让学生有机会接触多样化的运用语言的机会来发展各种语言技能,需要谨慎对待这样的平衡。为了实现这一目标,这里提供了两份作品清单:

第一年,教师和学生可以从指导书目中选择作品进行学习;
-
第二年和第三年,教师必须从指定书目中选择小说、戏剧和电影作品。
第一年的书单仅限小说。这样做的目的仅仅是建议适合第一年学习的作品类型。
第二年和第三年的指定清单中包含学生应学习的小说,戏剧和电影等特定的作品。其他作品如诗歌,短篇小说,非文学类作品等,教师可以自由选择具体的作品。
以下为作品选择的准则:
